The Inside Olympics

Today we were talking about the history of the Winter Olympics and so we decided to have our own "inside" Olympics. I don't know how much more we "learned" but we sure did have FUN! We did 5 events just like the early pentathlon. We had the long jump, and 63" was the winning jump. For the running event we had a race to see who could crawl the fastest across the living room floor. Get ready......set.......GO!
For the javelin throw we threw toothpicks as far as we could. For the discus we flicked pennies across the room. And for wrestling we arm wrestled. We really had a great time!

As for our challenge this week? Well.....have you ever prayed for patience? Watch out! You're sure to have PLENTY of opportunities to practice! lol We, I, have had LOTS of opportunities to exercise self control and not raise our voice. Boy is our flesh screaming! But that's good. We need to die to self so that HE can live through us!! Thank you Lord for teaching us to be more like you.

Creative way to spend time together!!! Love the last part of this post! We need to die. We are dead! But raised with Him! Glory to God! Praying for God's love and grace to continue to shower over you and your beautiful children!

I loved all your creativity in making this a fun way to learn about the Olympics. Next they should research their favorite Olympic event to see just when it all got started since some events haven't been around as long as others.

Fun way to make history memorable. Even if their didn't "learn" anything and just had fun, it will still remind them of that part of history.
