This year for Advent we are reading the second book in a series called Bartholomew's Passage by Arnold Ytreeide. Last year we read Jotham's Journey and I just can't say enough GREAT things about this series of books!! I like what the author had to say..."While the story is fun and adventurous and has the most happy of endings, it does take place in the real world: there is greed, there is cruelty, there is death. The point is not to cover up the dark side of life, but rather to show how the love of God and His Son Jesus Christ is the light of our lives." We look forward to reading and talking about it every night now as Christmas approaches. This year to make it even more special the girls made our very own advent wreath too! I let the girls each pick out fabric, then we cut each piece into strips and tied it to our wreath. Pretty simple but very cute!! Rosebud made the candles in there too!

I LOVE the wreath! Great idea!
Great job on the wreath! You've come a long way from the Halloween plate. ;) Hey, and I really like your new Christmas blog decor.
